SK Telecom expands its Web3 offerings in partnership with Aptos and Atomrigs Lab

SK Telecom announced that it has partnered with Atomrigs Lab Inc. and Aptos Labs. The company will launch Web3 wallet services in South Korea as a result of the partnership.

Through the agreement, SK Telecom will be able to provide more Web3 services to the nation's blockchain users. Similarly, the partnership between Aptos and Atomrigs Lab will significantly enhance the telecom company's blockchain offerings and help it achieve its goal of enabling everyone to have a safe Web3 experience.

Additionally, this supports the business's ambitions to grow into the third generation of the World Wide Web.

SK Telecom's Plans for Its Web3 Services

According to CoinTelegraph, as early as July of last year, SK Telecom disclosed its intentions to develop a blockchain wallet for cryptocurrencies and nonfungible tokens (NFTs). At that point, the company's blockchain division teamed up with Atomix Lab and AhnLab Blockchain Company to launch the plan and run a Web3 wallet.

Since then, the massive telecom provider has been expanding its blockchain offerings. Its primary goal is to provide local customers with a safe Web3 experience. Through tripartite agreements with blockchain companies, it also hopes to expand its "affiliations with customer-preferred mainnets and decentralized applications."

SKT's Next T-Wallet

The business has now disclosed its most recent development, revealing that it would provide a Web3 wallet service known as the "T wallet." In collaboration with Atomrigs Lab and Aptos Labs, two layer-1 mainnet partners, this will be launched.

SK Telecom announced on X, the previous Twitter platform, that it has formed a tripartite agreement with Atomrigs Lab, its technological partner, and #Aptos, a layer 1 mainnet that is quickly growing and scaling. SK Telecom is dedicated to provide users with a seamless and secure Web3 experience through its partnership with Aptos.

As part of their collaboration, SK Telecom, Aptos, and Atomrigs Lab have also agreed to integrate T wallet into Aptos' decentralized application (DApp) ecosystem. Lastly, according to Bitcoinist, SKT's new wallet might help improve or progress South Korea's cryptocurrency business.
